My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv5117cl. But I have discovered an amazingly simple solution: unplug the charger and just run on battery power. Try removing rings or bracelets and see whether the jumpy or erratic behavior disappears. Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. click site

Agreed, unchecking "Enhance pointer precision" does help, but pointing becomes so much more troublesome (fix one thing, break another...)Any work arounds, or updates, that help fix the situation without having to First Time Here? My old HP that had for 7 years finally crashed, so of course I was going to pick another HP because of the great service I had out of the last Hp Touchpad Driver Next, go into device manager located in the control panel and double click on mouse and pointing devices. The touchpad is infinitely more responsive and doesn't seem to have a mind of its own anymore.
In the devices listed under that category right click on your touchpad device and select Uninstall and make sure to check the box that says Uninstall drivers as well.
